Daria Myagkikh - Forget boring lessons! Study is FUN!

Hi everybody,

Today I would like to show you deffinatly non-traditional project :).

The story is - My older daughter takes classes with a speech therapist. She is only 4 and it is not very easy for her. There are many exercises that she has to do. 

One of which is gymnastics for lips and each exersise has its own name - Frog, Lion, Elephant and Baloon. Speech therapist was kind enough to give Tonya four cards - so she will remember what to do at home.

Weeeeeeeell... I thought that those cards are a bit boring...and created my own...with the help of stamps and Copics of course.

On the up right corner you can see "original" cards. I used four images from Mo Manning to create more colorful and fun equivalent.  I think that result is worth my efforts.

Well my daughter certainly think so :)

I deliberatly made very simple decoration - nothing should destract Tonya's attention from the picture - dots, machine stitching and names (so we can learn English words as well...hehehe).

If you ask me...I would say that my favorite card is with the Froggy...so let me tell you the key numbers of markers for that image.

Cute as a Cupcake!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today, to share a simple 100% Copic card as I like doing! I have made the most simple background and used one of Tiddly Inks latest stamps released, called Cute As A Cupcake - just because I love cupcakes!!

I stamped this cutie from the Cute As A Cupcake stamp set and coloured her with my Copics. I also coloured the little heart which comes with the set. I cut everything out to pop my elements on my background - a very simple one I did using my beloved airbrush, once I had masked the borders of my card to leave a white frame around.

For a new baby boy

Hello copic friends, 

Elizabeth here today to give you copic inspiration from Norway. I made a card for a new baby boy. I love this Mo Manning image, you can use it for so many occasions, and I decided it could be a boy or a girl, depending on the colors used.

The colors are neutral so I could go either way... this time it's a boy!

I used Pion Design papers and some sweet newborn charms and sentiments. Pretty simple decoration really. Dies by Magnolia, Spellbinders and Memorybox. Flowers by WOC and Kort og Godt. 

The image is Baby Fairy with Ladybug digi from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Wings and clothes: W7-3-1-00

Dream, Imagine...

Today I have a card with flowers, and lots of lilac tones, which are my favorite.

The image is from Saturated Canary, with a technique that I do not use regularly,

no lines colouring.

My papers are from Pion Design. And my sentiment in Spanish says: "dream" "imagine".

an airbrush tutorial

hi everyone, this month I have a tutorial for you. A tutorial on airbrush techniques.

You can make such wonderful backgrounds with an airbrush that I had to show you how I make mine. 

here the airbrush with one of my copics in it, used the chiselpoint for making your backgrounds

the brushpoint will give splatter effect (which can be lovely too)

 technique 1

take a mask (this one is by Dutch Doobadoo called clouds) and spray the copic ink through the mask 

if you keep the airbrush a little away from your paper, the colours will be very light

if you keep your copic close to the mask and paper the colour will be more vibrant like the right bottom corner

this way you can play with different colour hues

even more fun is to add another colour, like I did in the right bottom corner

this way you create more depth in your background

technique 2

another fun trick is spraying ink in a light colour

and then move the mask a tiny bit and spray with a darker colour

this way you will get a shadow which looks awesome

for some more depth you can add a 2nd colour to the stars in the right bottom corner

because the copic inks are not opaque it doesn't work the other way around

technique 3

tear a piece of paper and put it on your background and spray a litlle ink (using technique 1)

if you move this handmade (teared) mask you will see a landscapelike background

tear another piece and move it upwards a little and spray ink again

this time you will see a hilly background appearing

spray some blue for creating a sky spray from a close distance to get a darker more vibrant blue and keep your ink a little further from the paper to create a lighter blue

spray some clouds or stars and you have a fun background for your card of art journalpage

I love the combination of different masks, here i used a stripped one by SU and bubbles by Dutch Doobadoo

I used one of the airbrushed backgrounds with an cute image by lemonshortbread.

In the background I added some extra snowflakes with the airbrush because I thought that it needed another colour. 

The edges are stamped with a snowflake stamp and there is some script stamping too.

Hello everyone, Åsa here today with some coloring inspiration.

Many of my favorite color combinations are quite soft and dimmed.

But sometimes a like to add a little bit more color, and what is more colorful than yellow?!

Although I really like the way the yellow colour 'pop' in the image I find it quite hard to colour.

The hard thing is to get depth and still make it feel as poppy and yellow as I want.

How do you think I have succeed with this one?

Penny in Love

Hi Everyone :)

It's Faye here, and with Valentines Day just around the corner, I thought I would play with a beautiful new image from Make it Crafty.

Penny in Love is just perfect for you to practice colouring your skin and hair on. I printed her out nice and big, (about 11cm high) so I could do just that. I wanted to really play with the depth in her hair, and make the different strands of hair 'pop' out.  Because the image is not too complicated, it also allowed me to think about my light source, something I always struggle with.

When I colour an image of a person, I always colour the skin first. I do this as it is generally the palest colour. When I add the darker colours later, it would be very easy to accidentally pick up some ink and drag it onto the skin. Which, if I've already spent a long time colouring an image, is the kind of disaster I can do without. I colour the hair next, and then the rest of the image, starting with the areas which will be in the palest colours, white, for example, progressing to the darkest. And I ALWAYS leave red until last!

Franz here again with a CAS card today and a super lovely Saturated Canary Girl :)

She's a funny Cheerleader, so I coloured her with some different bright colours:

I used blues, yellows and pinks for her outfit and I coloured the background with Prismacolor Pencils this time:

Papers and washi tapes I used are from different brands and they come from an italian shop called Scrap It Easy.

Good morning everyone! It's Sarit here.

Just came home after 2 amazing weeks in Cuba!!! 

OH, What a beautiful place, it's like going back in time….

Since I had a LONG flight I took with me books to read, the only thing I need to add are bookmarks to my books. 
I made 2.

here is the first one

I love nature and wanted to make a bookmark with quote in it.

The leaves pic I took from Wikipedia when I search for leaves.

Wanted to give the copics  look like water colors effect.

I used the following colors: BG09, BG49, BG45, BG32, G43, YG01, YR31, YR21, YR24

Started from the middle to the sides. (I wrote the colors in the order I used them)

For the background I used: E71, W3, W1, W0, and blender to soften it. 

For my second bookmark I used fairy sleepy digi stamp from Mo Manning. 

I wanted to give it a magical touch, so I add a magical quote and started to color the little cute angel.

Here are the colors I used:

Skin:  E000 E00 YR000 R20 E11

Hair:  E21, E11, E13, E15, E18

Wings: B26, BG15, BG34, YG11, YG03, YG06 + stardust stikless

Grass: YG93, YG97

I had so much fun doing them. it will a beautiful addition to a book gift
