LOTV happy birthday card with video

Hi all Copic friends.

Today I have a bright birthday card for you,

I have coloured up my new LOTV rubber stamp.

A fun card, 

completely coloured with Copic

including the flowers!

My card started like this 

I have stamped the stamp onto Perfect Colouring Paper

 with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Some white card stock for the flowers and some green card stock for the leaves.

Here I am half way colouring…

The flowers were also coloured with Copic and some Activator spray.

I have prepared a video,

but I have had many difficulties to upload it as it was a long video.

Here is a super short version..

But after  help from our lovely Virginia from our DT

below you should be able to see the long version too,
please play it forward now and then have to learn how to show the video faster :) .

The card base was cut with a Studio Light die,

the flowers were cut with the stitched flower die from My Favorite Things

the leaves were cut with dies from My Favorite Things and Marianne Design.

The paw prints stencil and the enamel dots are from Kraftin Kimmie

The stamp is from Lili of the Valley; Little friends

The paste is from deco glass ; moonlight dust

Recycling, Copic markers and Activator...

Hello Copic friends,

Today I will show you how you can make fun cards 

with your rubber stamp left overs,

your Copic Activator and some Copic Markers.

I use a lot of rubber stamps for my cards

 and when you trim those rubber stamps

rubber stamp leftovers will remain.

As probably everyone in the world of scrap and cardmaking,

I do not like to throw things away. Ha, ha.

So this is my solution...use your rubber stamp leftovers too.

And make original creations.

You will need :

Copic Activator

Some Copic Markers (I have chosen three markers : RV04, RV14 and R59)

Chromolux paper or other heavy glossy paper

an acrylic block or stamping tool

and last but not least some rubber stamps leftovers.

 I have cut up the pieces, into shapes I like.

I have created a design 

and attached the rubber stamp leftovers onto my stamping tool

(you can also use an acrylic block if you do not have a stamping tool)

 If your stamps are not mounted on foam you can use tack 'n' peel 

to attach the rubber onto the acrylic block or stamping tool. 

I have cut a piece of Chromolux paper 

and have attached it on my stamping tool with the magnets,

before I have coloured the rubber

 I have checked if the "design" fits onto the paper.

After I have started to colour the rubber with my two RV markers.

I have also added some R59.

I have sprayed some Activator onto the rubber stamp leftovers,

quickly turned the stamping tool 

and have pressed firmly to the glossy side of the Chromolux paper.

This was the result. 

The second time I have cut another piece of Chromolux paper,

and this time after having sprayed the Activator 

onto the coloured rubber stamp leftovers

I have pressed the glossy side of the paper 

onto the rubber stamp leftovers with a roller.

You can clean the leftovers with a some activator straight after stamping.

This was the result of the second piece.

I have cut several flowers with a MFT die out of the first piece of paper,

the second piece of paper was cutted with a square die,

 with some Staz-on ink I have added

the sentiment to the background paper.

To give the card a fun effect

 I have fixed the flowers with eyelets onto the background

 using a crop-a-dile big bite tool.

This is my fresh pink floral card!

My Best Pals

A lot of people forget how important friends are. Sometimes they are even more important than family.  

 Fortunately, I can say that I have a few lovely girlfriends who are always ready for me. It does not matter what stupidity I take out, they are always there for me.

I made the background with Copic refills, Yupo paper and Copic Activator.

The image is a digital stamp "Best Pals"  from Mo Manning.

 Step 1: First put with BV01thin stripes in her hair.

Step 2: Put with BV02 more thin stripes in her hair.

 

 Step 2: Put with BV04 more thin stripes in her hair.

But make sure you do not mix all the other colours.

 Do not try to put the lines together but next to each other. 

 

  Step 4: Finally, draw a few thin lines with BV08,

but make sure you put only a few lines, otherwise this colour will dominate.

 

 

 

I used the following Copic Markers to colour this print.

 Girl on the left:

Skin: E11-13-15
Eyes: YG07

Hair: C5-7-9, RV13-14-19 and Molotow Neon Pink

Hoody: B21-23-24-26

Pants: RV13-14-19

Sneakers: B21-23-24 and glitter pen

Girl in the middle:

Skin: E0000-000-00-11- R20
Eyes: B24

Hair: BV01-02-04-08

Sweater and legging: YG01-05-07-17

Skirt and socks: C1-3-5-7-9 and Glitter pen

Sneakers: : C1-3-5 and YG07

Skirt: B91-93-95-97-99 

 

Girl on the right:

Skin: E000-00-11-21-R22-BV00

Hair: B24-26-28 and C5-7-9-110

Sweater: R24-27-29-39-C7-glitter pen

Skirt: B91-93-95-97-99

Boots: C5-7-9-110 and Molotow White

Background: RV09-V17-B28

Today I have double tutorial for you. The first one you can find on the Colourstock Blog.

There you can find the tutorial how to colour the scales of baby dragon. But here I'm going to show you how to create scales on human skin the easy way. This a technique from Copic Colouring Lesson 3.

This is part of the coloring of animal skins. This technique you can apply to fish, dragons, bears, you can apply it to almost any animal skin.

 Step 1: First colour the skin with E00 and E000

Step 2: Start with setting down little random dots with your B000 along the edge of the skin.

Step 3: Add even more random dots to the previous colour this time with B00

Step 4: Do the same thing with B04

 Step 5: Again the same thing but now wth BV02

Step 6: With B000 you do the same thing again. Because you're paper is getting wet from the ink you will see that the dots are starting to blend.

Step 7: Now you will use a dark colour to indicate some depth. You do this with BV04

Step 8: With E00 and E21 you are going to make the hard colours a little bit softer.

You can continue to repeat steps 3 through 8 until you are satisfied with the result.

  

I used these Copic colours for the dragon;

Blue tones : B000 - B00 - B01 - B02 - B04

Purple tones: BV00 - BV02 - BV04 - BV08

Green tones: G03 - G05

Stripes in the eyes with various shades of Derwent colorpencils.

Skin tones: E0000 - E000 - E00 - E04 - E21

Purple tones: BV00 - BV02 - BV04 - BV08

Green tones: G03 - G05 - G09 - G29
Blue tones : B000 - B00 - B01 - B02 - B04

Black tones: C5 - C7 - C9 - 110 en B37

Grey tones: W1 - W3 - W5

Stripes in the eyes with various shades of Derwent colorpencils.

The background I made with Re-fill RV17 - B29, Activator and Yupo paper.

The white points are set with a white Molotow.

On the blog post of Miranda van den Bosch on 22 May, you can see how I made that background.

The drawing I coloured this time is from Tanja Bond and comes from her coloringbook "Inklings"

Dreaming of a blue green sea!

Hi all,

Well summer is coming..

the weather is getting warmer 

and that made me dream about a nice refreshing blue green sea!

 So I have made this special blue green special fold card, 

when I will look at it I can dream away.

For the background I have used some glossy paper 

(I have used Chromolux paper)

 two colours of Sketch pens and the Activator Spray. 

I have made several photos during the process,

are you ready?? 

I have started to add some Copic colours on a craft sheet

(G14 and BG07)

Afterwards I have sprayed some Activator on the ink

Now I have pressed some Chromolux paper onto the 

Copic ink with the glossy side down

This is the result..

Now I have put the paper onto my stamptool with the magnets

and have used my "goutelettes/drops" stamp from Katzelkraft.

I have used olive green Stazon ink .

These are some of the products I have used.

Here you can see the result after the stamping..

I have added some highlights on the drops with some Copic Opaque White

As for the shells , 

I have used my new Marianne Design die and used some white foam.

I have heated the foam shells with my heat gun

and when they were warm I have shaped them,

once they are cold again the shape will remain.

They've got a touch of colour too, using my G12 and BG0000 Sketch pens.

A sentiment from Joy Crafts stamped with olive green Stazon ink ,

 afterwards when the text was dry I have added some BG01 on the text sea.

I had found some pearls from HeroArts in matching colours too .

Some dots with Copic Opaque White were added with a tooth pick.

I have stamped a shells background stamp from Impression Obsession

onto the aqua coloured design paper from Marianne Design.

 Later I  have torn the edges of the design paper and also of the plain green paper.

All dies I have used are from Marianne Design.

This is a close up of the panel made with the Copic pens and the Activator Spray.

As you can see I am ready for summer , I can dive into my blue green sea .

Praying Mantis Sprite

Hi Everyone, it's Saskia here.

 Today I want to show you that you can apply the techniques for making background also on your image. Normally, you colour your skin and hair of the picture and then the clothing and such. But this technique uses a slightly different order. First colour the part of the clothing that you want to edit with some texture. This texture can be applied with different kinds of material, such as a piece of fabric or in this case a piece of natural sponge.

I will explain to you in easy steps how I did it.

 STEP 1

 
First  you colour your clothes where you want some texture in it.

STEP 2

Then moisturize your natural sponge with a little bit of Copic Activator.

STEP 3

 Then gently dab the damp sponge on to your color work.

TIP: Don't leave the sponge too long on the image, because then your Copic colours will fade too much.

STEP 4

When the Activator has dried, it may for example look like this.

The digital image that I used this time is called "Praying Mantis Sprite" from Aurora Wings.
