Aloha Paradise

Hi there!
Helen here today and I have colored an image from The Greeting Farm - Aloha Paradise, to show you.

As always, I stamped my image on some Perfect Colouring Paper used Memento Ink.

I sketched in the background used C0 because it´s so light it will disappear by layering other colours on top.

Started with the sky.

Y0000 - Y000 - Y02 - B00 - B41

Some clouds: BV000 - C1 - BV00 - Y00 - V000

Greenery: YG03 - YG17 - YG63 - YG 67

Beach: E81 - E84 - E87
Skin: E000 - E50 - E11 - BV20 - R21

Dress: V01 - V04
Hair: B24 - C5 - C7 - C9
Water: B41 - B45 - B97
Palm trees: E44 - E47 - YG63 - YG67

Gnome in Glade

Hi there!

Today it's my, Helen, turn again to show you some colouring.
I've used "You Gnome Me" stamp set from My Favorite Thing Stamps.

I started by making some masked stamping.
As always I used Memento Ink on Perfect Coloring Paper.

I started with the background, the first layer of the sky was BG11.
The grass got: G40 - G43

The tree trunks got BG13.

The skin got: E50 - B20 - E21 - E11 - R02 - W3

 I had to lower the tree trunks by adding in tree tops used BG15 - BG18.
The hat of the mushroom got R05 - R08 - R27 - R37 - R59

Some how I decided to get the gnome a red beard, YR09 - E08 - E19
And I didn´t use one of the colours from the mushroom but it turned out the same...

I wanted him to wear a flannel shirt, and a red one...
R35 - R59 - R37

His pants got W1 - W5 - W3
The foot of the mushroom got E40 - E41 - W1 - W3
The snail got: E41 - W1 - W3 - R00, E84 - E89 - E87 - E49 - E81
The shadow from the snail is T5.

Added some more tree trunks, G12
Grass: YG13

Grass: YG17 - YG 63 - YG67
His hat got the same shades as the pants, W1 - W5 - W3

Some texture to the snail.

The buttons got Y21 - Yr23 - Y28

Added in the squares in the fabric, used B26 and Gelly Roll Dark White.
And the snail got a highlight as well.

Placed a tree in the very front of the picture used RV99.

And as I use to do, I coloured another one.

Skin: E11 - E13 - E21
Beard: B24 - C3 - C5 - C7
Hat and shirt: R35 - R59 - R37 - B26 - Jelly Roll Dark White
Pants: B41 - B45 - B97
Mushroom: R05 - R08 - R27 - R39, E41 - E42 - W3
Snail: E41 - E42 - R00 - E84 - E89 - E87
Grass: G40 - YG03 - YG61 - YG63 - YG67

Background: G40 - G43
Foreground: RV99

Snowman with Bird

Hi there.
Hope you all are fine today!

Helen here, and today I will show an image from CC Design, Snowman and Bird.
I got it as a rubberstamp, but you can get it as a digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps today.

As always I stamped the image on to Perfect Coloring Paper with ink from Memento.

Started off by sketching in the background using C0.

The snow got B70 - B0000 - B000 - B45

The sky got Y000 - Y11 - Y00

The first layer off the ground got E30, and shadows W3.

I outlined the piles of snow with a multi liner.
The ground got E31 - E33 - E35 - E37

The first layer of the tree was E42.
The first layer of the fence was E30.
Sketched a line of trees in the background with C1.

The darkest area of the tree is E47 and the mid-tone is E44.

Scribbled in the bark of the stem with E47 and W3.
I used the very tip of the nip with light pressure, and randomly I got heavier pressure to get the pattern for the bark. The fence got layers of E33 - E35 - E37 - W5

Smoothed the bark pattern out by going over it with E44 - E42.
The shadow on the tree is E47.

The hat and buttons got C3 - C5 - C7
The carrot got YR14 - YR07
The snowman's arms has the same color as the tree.

 The bird got C1 - C3 - C5 - R24
The scarf and the ribbon got BG13 - BG49 -  C1 - C3
And the ground and snow got some shadows from the tree and fence with W3 - C1.

I made an inventory among my stamps and I got a lot of different snowmen and I just want to color them all. Maybe there will be a snowman next time as well...

Fairy in Sunset

Hi ladies.

It´s time for me, Helen, to try to inspire you today.

I have used Fairy from Mo manning, and you can get her as a clear stamp here.

I´ve stamped the image with Memento Ink on Perfect Coloring Paper, which I love. It´s thick, 250g/m2 and are able to carry much ink

Sometimes I get carried away while coloring so now I realize I didn´t got the skin on photo.
But right now I´ve used E000-E50-E21-E11-R02-E04.

The first shade of green is G12.

Next steps are G16-G02 for her dress.

Moving on to her shawl.
The first shade is V01.

V17 is my shadow and V06 my mid-tone.
Some Y02 for her star in her wand.
The hair got E07-E19-YR09.

Time for the background.
And I found such lovely sunset that I wanted for this scene.
I start with pale colors to make the blending a little smoother.
I put C3 in the bottom, blending over to Y21 in the middle and blending over to V91.

I know I will put down many layers of colors so I´m not stressed out by making the coloring even.
And if you take a look at the sky you can see it´s not even in real life either.
So instead of thinking: I can´t get my coloring smooth, look around you and you´ll discover that nature are forgiving. Embrace that and give it a try .

I used V95 because I feel like I can blend the duller color easier.
So it´s just there for the transition from orange to purple.
I wanted a brighter purple so I started to blend in V01 with V95 and Y21.
And at the  top I blended V06 and V01.

Started by defining my horizon line. using YR04.

I don´t use my darkest color first, instead I´m working my way through the shades
so I can stop when it´s darken enough for me.
So from the horizon I use YR14 and blend it over to Y21. Leaving some space for the sun.

Darken it up a little more using YR09 nearest the horizon line and the clouds got some E07.

Blending the yellow, Y21, into the water with C3 for a smoother transition.
Darken the water with C5 and made some ripple on the water with C6.
I didn´t like the result of that part.

Sketch in some land and islands with C7.

I wanted her wings to be transparent, so I went in with the colors I used for the hair
and then I bleached it with my colorless blender, 00.

And I wanted to highlight her wand, so I made some circles round it with the colorless blender as well.

With the sky as I wanted it her dress came out a little pale.
So I had to darken it up with G16-G29.

For the shawl I just put in more of V17-V06.

For her skin I went in with BV20 to give it some shades.

Some sparkle from her wand made with a Gelly Roller, Dark White.

And here it is, finished.
I found a perfect sentence from My Favorite Things for my image/card.
