Just Flying By

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share some colouring inspiration using a Penny Black butterfly, from the Butterfly Trio set.

Because purple and blue are my favourite colours, I decided to use them together on my card.
I started by creating a purple stripe, colouring from the left in vertical lines with my V01 and I blended and continued further to the right using V000.

I then created a blue rectangle in B000, 00, 01, 02. I coloured from right to left, starting with my darkest colour B02 and ending with my lightest on the left.

For the blue on the wings, I coloured with my B39, then B28, 16, 04, 02 colouring from dark to light and starting from the butterfly's body. I added a bit of C10 and C7 near the body to add a bit more depth.

The rest of the wings was done in V09, 17, 15, 12.

As a last step, I used a black Copic multiliner to go over the little spots that did not have enough stamping ink, I stamped a sentiment and added touches of gold and white gel pens on the wings.

Blue wings: B02, 04, 15, 28, 39, C78, 10
Purple wings: V09, 12, 15, 17
Background: B000, 00, 01, 02, V000, 01

Thank you very much for stopping by, have a lovely day everyone! Hugs,

Polar Dreams

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share some colouring inspiration, with a cute polar bear and his penguin friend, and a bit of airbrushing. The stamp set I'm using today is called Star Gazing Friends by Penny Black.

First, I masked my image to airbrush my background.

I wanted a purple-tinted background, so I picked BV08, V09 and V15. I started by airbrushing BV08 following the edges of my card, then filled in the space in the middle with V09, then V15 and I went back with a bit of BV 08 at the end to darken the edges a little.

Next, I coloured the bear in Warm Greys - W0, 1, 3 , 5. For the penguin, I used C1, 3, 5, 7, 9. As you can see, I left a very thin white line on the edges of my penguin, for the next step.

To make the penguin's grey more bluish, I added B45 in the white spots I left in the previous step and over the lighter grey parts.
For the bear, I decided to enhance the fur using a white gel pen, and drawing little white hair, as I saw the super talented Jane Box of Colours once do. And no more Copic on the bear once gel pen is applied to avoid ruining the nibs!

I then added shadows to the snow, using BG000 and V20.

I stamped a sentiment, then stamped 3 stars from the Star Gazing Friends set and covered them in gel pen - and voilĂ !

Thank you very much for stopping by, have a great day everyone!

Winter Fun

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share some Christmas inspiration, with a simple winter scene. For my scene, I used a Penny Black stamp from the Festive Frolic set. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black then die cut it with a Lawn Fawn die to be able to frame my image and visualize my scene.

I started with the sky, drawing the limit / hill in BG000. For a change, I went for a pastel orangy sky inspired by sky colours at sunset. I coloured from left to right and right to left making horizontal lines in BG000, V000 and YR000.

For a bit of interest, I added trees behind my hill line. I coloured from dark to light, "drawing" pine needles in G29, then blending a bit using YG17 and a bit of YG03. For the trees further in the distance, I skipped the G29. At last, I also used BV000 to add a "horizon" in the distance.

I then coloured the bear in Warm Greys - W0, 1, 3, 5 - and R20. I "drew" the hair from the fur going from dark to light.

Next I coloured the little penguin and sleigh (see colours below).

I then focussed on the details, you know the details that make a difference ;), adding marks in the snow, a shadow under the bear, and colouring some of the white of the hill using B000 and V20.
As a final step, I added snow in the trees and snowflakes using a Molotow acrylic paint marker.

Here is the final image, with a sentiment.

Copics used:
Sky: BG000, V000, YR000
Trees: G29, YG03, 17
Bear: R20, W0, 1, 3, 5
Penguin: BV25, 29, Y38 - C2, 4, R35, 39 (hat)
Sleigh: C2, 4, E31, 34, 37
Snow: B000, V20

Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely holiday season everyone! Hugs,

It's snowing!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today! I am completely in Christmas mood right now, so I'm sharing a Christmas scene today - I just like making these so much!

For this tutorial, I'm using a cute stamp by Penny Black called Hopping By, my Copics of course and my Airbrush.

Step 1: I prepared my card for airbrushing. I stamped my rabbit in Memento Ink on my card, covered it with a blue mask, covered the edges of my card with washi tape and added a hill.

Step 2: I airbrushed my background, using RV66, RV55, V15 and RV11.

Step 3: I stamped trees and a branch (by Penny Black too) to add a bit of interest to my background.

Step 4: I then coloured my main image, the rabbit, in Copics.

Step 5: I added all the details that can make a difference :) I coloured the snow in Copics and added white acrylic paint to my trees and for snowflakes.
Here is a close up of my image and all the Copics I used:

Rabbit: E40, 41, 42, R20, W0, 1, 3, 5
Scarf: R35, 37, 39, W5
Presents: R35, 37, 39, YR00, 02, RV11
Tags: E40, 41
Background: RV11, 55, 66, V15

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for stopping by, have a great day! Hugs,

Love at Christmas

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share some Christmas inspiration. I picked an adorable stamp by Penny Black, called Nose to Nose and decided to have a play with my airbrush.

I masked my stamped image to protect my bears and created a hill with Post-It notes. I did not go to the trouble of cutting the mask between my bears because I had in mind to draw a background after airbrushing.

Above, you can see what it looked like, once the airbrushing was done. I used B02, BG15, BV34 and a bit of V01.

I removed the masks, and then realised that I really liked the look of the sky and should not draw a background on it... so, more masking, this time to do the space between the bears lol!

I used B02 and BG15.

I then coloured the bears. I used W0, 1, 3, 5 for their fur, C5, R35, 37, 39 for the red scarf, and RV63, 66, 69 for the pink one.

Next I added a bit of C2, BG000 and B00 for the snow (yes, white always needs to be coloured a bit!). I also added some stickles on the ground and white acrylic paint with a Molotow marker for the snowflakes.

Bears: W0, 1, 3, 5, R20
Red: C5, R35, 37, 39
Pink: RV63, 66, 69
Sky: B02, BG15, BV34, V01

Using two rectangle dies, I created a frame for my cute pair.

Thank you very much for your visit, have a great day! Hugs,

Colouring no line with Inkon3 fadeout ink

Hello Copic fans.

This time I let you see how I coloured a brushstamp from Penny Black.

First I stamped my Penny Black stamp with Inkon3 fadeout ink, I use a stamp easy so I can ink my image several times.

I coloured the bud of the flower first because here the lines are hardest to see. The first colour I use is the B34 for the shade.

Then I used my second colour, YG17 over the B34 and slightly further.

The third colour Ii used is the YG03, with this colour I coloured the rest of the leaves.

The RV19 is my darkest colour for the flowers and I colour this over the B34 and slightly further.

Then I coloured with B34-YG17-YG03 the stem and leaves.

For the flowers I used also B34 - RV19 - RV17 - RV14.

In the big rose I used B34 as shade underneath my RV19.

Then my RV19 over the B34 and a slightly further.

Then I used RV17 and RV14 to coluor the rest of the flower.

And then my image is ready for a card.

I hope that I inspired you to try this sometime!
Until next time!
