Rockstar Anya in the spotlight!

Hi Copic friends.

Today I have prepared a music themed card for you.

This is my new stamp called Rockstar Anya 2 from The Greeting Farm.

Isn't she cool ? 

I had seen the spotlight idea at the blog of  Rosemary Bridges, 

I gave it my turn and perhaps you want to try this too.

I have cut a piece of Perfect Colouring Paper with a die,

and have stamped the clear stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa.

Using my Tim Holtz  stamp tool.

Afterward I have added some lines with a grey Copic multiliner 0.3.

Lines to indicate where the spotlight will shine and where the pavement will end..

These are the colours I have used for the skin.

Now I have started to create the "spotlight"...

Time to create the pavement.

Besides the "spotlights" I have added some darker spaces using my warm grey markers.

I have seen many fun hair colours, but I have decided to go for a reddish brown.

After having added the darker shades with the E29,

 I have used the yellow marker  Y21 to colour the lighter parts of the hair.

Time for her outfit, the shirt was coloured with my warm grey markers...

and some dots with a white gel pen.

The electric guitar was coloured with the red tones R39 and R59 and for the shading RV99.

The skirt was coloured with a black Copic multiliner and some grey and red tones.

Her hair bow was coloured with the red tones and some yellow.

I have used my new music notes die too...the dp was distressed 

on the edges and corners with some distress oxide ink (vintage photo).

The card was white but I have used the chisel side of the R59 marker to colour the edges,

in this way the colour is perfect with my coloured image.

Let's  listen to the music! The "You rock " sentiment is part of the stamp set.

Tutorial - Shading with mask

Today I want to show you an easy technique,
which can help you to draw a shadow for your image.

This technique is good for those who are not so sure about their drawing skills.

Heute möchte ich Euch eine einfache Technik zeigen, die Euch helfen kann, einen Schatten hinter Euer Motiv zu setzen. Diese Technik ist ideal für diejenigen, die sich nicht so sicher über Ihre zeichnerischen Fähigkeiten sind.

For this tutorial I choose "Trudy's with gift" by Mo Manning. 

I colored the image and cut it.

Für dieses Tutorial habe ich Trudy's with gift von Mo Manning verwendet.
Ich habe das Motiv coloriert und ausgeschnitten.

Than I printed the image again on a regular paper and cut it as well.

 This will be my mask.

Dann habe ich das Motiv nochmals auf normales Papier gedruckt und dies ebenfalls ausgeschnitten. Das wird Eure Schablone sein.

I took another paper and laid my colored image and my mask above it,
so the mask will peep a little behind.

Ich habe ein weiteres Stück Papier genommen, das colorierte Motiv darauf und dann die Schablone darüber gelegt, so dass die Schablone ein wenig verschoben ist.

I draw the outlines with W0.

Mit W0 habe ich die Außenlinien nachgefahren.

I filled out the outlines with my W0.

Dann habe ich den Bereich innerhalb der Linien mit W0 ausgemalt.

I decided I want the shadow a little darker

so I added some color strikes with W3 in the inner side

close to the colored image, and mixed everything with W0.

Ich habe beschlossen, den Schatten etwas dunkler zu machen, also habe ich ein paar Striche mit W3 hinzugefügt - nahe dem colorierten Motiv - und alles mit W0 vermischt.

After my shade was done, I took my image

and rounded it by pulling it's tow edges

than I lay my pop up glue on the sides of the back of the image

and glued it to the paper, so the center is little higher then the sides.

Nachdem mein Schatten fertig war, habe ich das Motiv etwas abgerundet indem ich die Ränder etwas umgebogen habe. Dann habe ich Pop Up Glue (z. B. Silikonkleber) seitlich auf die Rückseite aufgetragen und das Motiv auf das Papier geklebt. Die Mitte ist nun etwas höher als die Ränder des Motives.

Here is another example of droping a shadow when

your light source is coming from the side.

das Licht von der Seite.
