Time for Mermaids

Hi everyone!! It's Virginia here with a new tutorial for Copic Marker Europe. Today I'm going to show you how I colour hair in an unrealistic way. As usual, I give you really simple ideas but, at least for me, obtaining good results.

Although in Spain is still cold and wet, I'm thinking of summer and holiday so, as you can imagine, I'm thinking of mermaids.

I've used a Tiddy Inks stamp to decorate a wooden letter. It is a present for my daughter's friend, whose name is 'Lucía'. Here you have the step by step video tutorial.

The Copic Colours I've used are:

Skin: RV21-E13-E21-E00-E000
Tail: RV69-RV66-RV52-RV00
Hair: BG18-BG15-BG13-BG11
Fishes: E25-E35-E33-E31
Bikini: YR27-YR24-Y13

That's all. I hope you like my project. I'll be really glad if I can help you.

See you!!

Angel love

Hi there Copic loversElena F here from Scrap-lanak Ganbaran.

I made my very first art journal page staying out of my "comfort zone", using Copic Refills to make my copic gelliplate printed and foiled background.

Here is the finished project picture, but after that, you've got a few step pictures on how I  made the background and at the end of the post, a few step pictures to see how I coloured the angel.

(You can click the picture to make it larger)

For the background I used my Copic Refills and a large size gelliplate, inspired by You tube and videos by Diny Sprakel using this ink on gelliplate.

Add a few drops of Copic Refills in different colours on the gelliplate; you have to work quickly because alcohol inks evaporate quite quickly.

I used RV69, 63, R89, 83

Let dry completely your desired design and then add a thin layer of acrylic paint with your brayer; I choose white paint.

Well....nothing new until this step.
...but....why not FOIL your background?????

I found one simple background I love and I printed directly onto my gelli impression background (once the impression was completely DRY) with my laser printer:

....and finally I foiled it using my laminating machine and rose gold foil to match the colours of my background.

I´m being surprised when I discover the biggest and darkest Copic refill drops got foiled when blended with the ink from the hot of the machine as you can see in the detailed picture of the stamp at the top of this post.

I masked the stamp to bring some wings to my angel stamp using post-it or any adhesive paper sheet:

Then I colour my stamp as you can see in the next step pictures:

Love to colour skin in E0000, 00, 21, 11 and 13.

Then I colour in brown-reddish her hair using  E18,17,15 and 13.

For the feather dress I choose to colour slightly pink so I started colouring the darkest areas with a medium warm grey in W4.

As you can see the marker dropped ink into my dress but there is nothing impossible to fix so I decided to continue this time to see if I can fix it.

I added a few touches of R83 to the feathers.

I went back to greys and using W5 I coloured again the darkest zones to get more depth on the dress.

A few touches with R83 to blend greys a little.

A few touches with R81 to expand a bit of pink colour to the end of each feather.

Finally blending with W1.

Repeat steps until you are satisfied with the result. The ink drop on the dress is now almost invisible.

I decided give to the wings of the angel a light colour to make them appear translucent using
BG000, BV00 and BV11.

Finally, I fussy cut the image to emphasize her on my project.

I added some die cuts, some stamping, I make the faux stitching using a Copic multiliner....and It´s done.

The list of markers I've used to colour the image:

Skin: E0000, 00, 21, 11, 13
Hair: E18, 17, 15, 13
Dress: W5,3,1 R83, 81
Wings: BG000, BV00 and BV11
Copic multiliners

I hope you found this post inspiring.
Thanks for sticking with me to the end!

Copic airbrush

Hi Copic lovers; welcome to the Copic Marker Europe Blog.

For my DT inspiration today I'm using my Copic Airbrush in an "not usual copic colouring project".

This is the finished project picture (some mixed media candles), but after that, you've got step by step pictures on how I made it.

I'm using Fimo Light Modelling Paste as it quickly air dries.

Start modelling the design you desire

I covered the outside of the candle metal support with my clay

Time to colour my clay. I always when I'm using the Airbrush usually start by refilling my marker

The usual position (we could use either nib but this explanation could be for an another tutorial) for the marker into the Airbrush gun looks like this

Start airbrushing the clay

You can also skip the clay step and go directly to colour the metal surface of the candle holder directly

Now take one stencil of your choice and put it onto the top of the candle to airbrush a little design directly to the candle wax

Your project will look something like this

Add some wax to the Fimo and.......voilá.......some pretty tealight personalised candle in mixed media style using your Copics.

I hope you have enjoyed my post and hope you found it inspiring

Have a nice day.

Catch your heart...

hi everyone, Miranda here
I have another art journalpage to share.

I always start making a background first. This one is made with Dylusions ink and Dutch Doobadoo masks and some stamping (script by Dylusions).

I bought this girlstamp a little time ago, it's by Prima Marketing and it's quite large too. So there is a lot to colour, which we all love, don't we?

I used my copics for this Indian girl.
I started colouring the skintones first, using E000, E00, E11 and E21. The lips are made red R20, R35 and R89. I used these reds and R32 and R29 to colour to poppies in her hair. For the feathers and eyes I used B0000, B24, B41, B95 and B99. I built up the feathers using small lines, starting in the middle of the feather and lifting up my marker reaching the outside of the feather. This way you will get a darker colour in the middle and a lighter one on the outside.
For the hair I used YR 07, YR16, E 25, E47 and  E79. I coloured each string of hair seperately, starting with the darkest colour working back to the lightest and more orange ones.
all shading is done with C1, C3, C5 and C6

I found the quote on the internet, and I really love it.

hope you like my page
have a fabulous day
and see you next month

It's the Art of living........

Hello dear Copic fans,

Today I have something different for you.
For a while I want to use Copic Markers with mixed media.
Bud how, when you color over a mixed media background you have the chance to ruin the nips. And that wasn't what I want to do.

I start to airbrush a sheet of Stamping linen from Joy Craft.
Using the colors B04 B18 B37 and RV04
With a template and modeling paste I create the spots and color them with Gelatos from Faber Castell and a waterbrush pen.

With black stampin ink I stamped the flowers in the corner.
With blue stampin ink I stamped the bubbles from Magnolia.
With another template I airbrush the leaves in black N10.
You can clean your template easy with an alcohol based hanggel.

The sentiment is stamped with white acrylic paint.
When you use acrylic paint on your stamps, you have to clean them immediately, if you wait till the paint is dry you have to clean very hard and can damage you stamp.

On a other peace of stamping linen I stamped the face and colored with pencils, glue her on a piece blue cardstock and cut it out.
Glue the face with 3d foam tape on the card.

The Copic Markers I used
B04 B18 B37 RV04 N10
I hope that I have inspire you with this card
