Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Who doesn't know the classic childeren story Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) from the novel from 1865 written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world.  Well I love this story and read it a lot of times.

So when this Whimsical Alice Collection came online, I immediately bought the entire collection.
 

The Alice image was coloured separately and then cut out with scissors  before being mounted on to the coloured background.

Tutorial how you can use the Copic Blender

Today I'm going to show you three ways of using the Blender (nr 0).

 It is excellent to "erase" with, if you happen to color outside the lines on the image.

Use it to 'soften' transitions when adding shadows around the subject.

Or make a dotted fabric on a dress.

When I sit and paint, sometimes a little colour will go over the lines on the image. The blender is perfect to "push" the color in again.

Usually I use the wide tip for this, hold the stylus a little inclined, and push the color a bit at a time.

When I have colored the image, I like to add a shadow around the entire subject. I think it enhances the picture more and makes it more alive. I usually add a brown shade, eg W3 in the places where it is shaded most. Next, I take W1 thinly around the whole subject, and then I follow with W0. It is now I follow with the blender to make a smoother transition between W0 and the white paper.

Finally, I use the soft brush and make circular rotating brush strokes just next W0.

And last but not least, the blender is perfect to make cute little dots in the fabric on a dress.

Using the soft brush tip, I hold the pen upright properly so I get nice round spots, placing it gently on the color that I want to be spotted. 

I do this several times and in the same places all the time,

so I get just the right emphasis of dotty fabric.

The stamps I am using are from Bildmålarna. I chos to do a painting of my pre-painted motifs.

Hallo,

 as I have mentioned several times on this and on my other blogs, I love the images of Saturated Canary (Krista Smith is the designer). The hair, big eyes and layered clothing, they ask to be coloured with Copics. I made some cards for the show in Frankfurt, this was one of them. I think this is is such a girly girl with her bucket full of kisses (her doggie) 

Wie ich schon mehrmals auf diesem und auf meinen anderen Blogs erwähnt habe, liebe ich die Motive von Saturated Canary (die Designerin ist Krista Smith). Diese Haare, die großen Augen und die vielschichtige Kleidung bitten doch gerade zu darum, mit Copics koloriert zu werden. Ich habe ein paar Karten für die Messe in Frankfurt gemacht, das ist eine davon. Ich finde, das Motiv ist so ein typisches Mädchen mir ihrem "Bucket full of Kisses" (Eimer voller Küsse) - ihrem kleinen Hund.

The colouring is matched with the Pion Papers, they have grey and old purple in them. Of course we have the matching colours in our Copic Range. 

I created an easel card, always a great design for demonstration!  Under the girl I stippled  some soil with a confetti technique, this technique is also used around the image, but in lighter colours.

Die Koloration ist auf die Pion Papiere abgestimmt, sie enthalten Grau und gedecktes Lila. Natürlich bietet die Copic Farbpalette die passenden Farben.

Ich habe eine Easel-Card gemacht, das ist eine großartige Kartenform für Vorführungen. Den Boden unter dem Mädchen habe ich in der Konfetti-Technik getupft. Diese Technik habe ich auch um das Motiv herum angewendet, aber in helleren Farben.

To dress up my card, I used different dies from Memory Box, Marianne Design and Magnolia. Some lace, flowers and text completed the design.

Um meine Karte zu verzieren, habe ich verschiedene Schablonen von Memorybox, Marianne Design und Magnolia verwendet. Ein Stück Spitze, ein paar Blumen und ein Text runden das Design ab.

Shadow/background with the copic markers

Hello Copic Marker Fans!

Today, it is all about how to make background or shadows over the image.

Heute geht es darum, wie man einen Hintergrund oder Schatten des Motivs erarbeitet.

This is my colored imaged but I think it really needs some shadow and background to give it more depth.

Das ist mein coloriertes Motiv, aber ich finde, es braucht wirklich Schatten und Hintergrund, damit es mehr Tiefe bekommt.

I used these markers CO, C2, C4, C6 to make the shadow.

Für den Schatten habe ich die Copic Marker CO, C2, C4 und C6 verwendet.

First, I used C6 Copic marker and put a little colour under the polar bear and the penguin’s feet … just a little shade of colour otherwise it will be darker.

Zuerst habe ich C6 Copic Marker benutzt, um Akzente unter die Eisbären- und Pinguinfüsse zu setzen… gerade ein leichter Schatten, und nur ein wenig Farbe, da es ansonsten zu dunkel wird.

Then I used C4 Copic marker followed by C6 marker.

Dann habe ich C4 und C6 Copic Marker verwendet.

I used C2, then C6 and C4 – I want to make it a bit lighter and spread the color away from the image.

Ich habe C2, dann C6 und C4. verwendet. Damit es etwas heller wird, habe ich die Farbe vom Motiv weg aufgetragen.

Finally, I used CO to blend and smooth the colors.

Schließlich habe ich mit CO die Farben vermischt.

I used B02, B01, B00, BG11 Copic Markers. I want to add more colour on the background.

Um dem Hintergrund mehr Farbe hinzufügen, habe ich die Copic Marker B02, B01, B00 und BG11 verwendet.

Then I used a little bit of B02 Copic Marker around the image.

Um das Motiv herum habe ich dann den Copic Marker B02 verwendet.

I used B01, B00 and BG11 and then do blend the colours.

Die Farben habe ich mit B01, B00 und BG11 vermischt.

This is the result. It created a smooth background shading and shadow. I also used Opaque White onto the image.

Und das ist das Ergebnis. Eine weiche Hintergrundschattierung und Schatten. Ich habe auch Opaque White auf dem Motiv verwendet.
