Skipper the Mermaid

Hello everyone!
Rosi there!

I'm here today with a sweet little mermaid. I do love fairies a lot but I also love mermaids.

This one is called Skipper and it is from the digital stamps selection from Sweet november stamps.
My skin color combo is E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21 and R20 for the cheeks. I always start with E0000 all over the skin. Maybe I should try some other skin combos....

I go over my E11 with E21 in order to darken my shadows.

I colored the eyes with B04,02,00,000

Her hair is a combo from E30,31,33

I decided to color her tail in violets. V00,01,04,05,06

Crab and starfish are colored with Y02,11,13,15,17 and E13

Sand is colored with E30,33,35
And the sea BG10,13,01,000

So thats all from me for Mermay see you soon!

Curvy Girl Mermaid Underwater

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing my colouring of Curvy Girl Mermaid by Stamping Bella.

Supplies used:
Holtz Perfect Colouring Paper
Copic Markers
Memento Black ink
Designer paper
White card.

I started out by colouring the skin with E00, E04, 011 and  BV01. I also applied some E21 in the mid-tone areas.

For her bright pink hair I used RV04, RV06, RV09 and RV19.

The flower and leaves -
BG01, BG02, BG05. Y13, Y15, Y17. YG05 and YG17. I also applied some white gel pen for extra highlights.

To colour the tail I first applied BG01 all over. Then I layered on BG02 and BG05 in dots to give the appearance of texture. On the tail I brought in RV02 and RV04 and RV10 and blended it with the blue.

The pearl was coloured with RV10, BG01 and then faded out with colourless blender.

I used YR20, YR21, YR23 and YR24 to colour the sand.

For the water I worked in upward strokes starting with B00. I applied B01, B02 using the same upward stroke motion, layering until I was happy with how it looked.

I then cut out the image with a double stitched square and matted it onto patterned paper and a white card base.

Thanks for dropping by today and see you next month.

Mermaid Love

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today! I hope you like mermaids as much as I do because my card today is about mermaid love! The image I chose is called Mermaid Sparkles by Make it Crafty.

As always, I coloured the skin first, using E000, 00, 04, 11. I considered the light source was coming from the top left corner of my image.

For the fin, I used an aqua/purple combination - I just love these colours! The aqua colour was done using BG09, 11, 13, 45, 49 and a bit of C7 to add more depth. The purple is my all time favourite combo of V09, 15, 17.

Then I moved to the last part of the image, colouring the leaves in BG72, 75, 78 and a bit of C7 again, the star in Y11 and Y26, and the hair in 100 black, C7, 9 and BV04 for the highlights. I then fussy cut my mermaid.

Because the mermaid is sitting, I wanted to add something for her to sit on, so I picked a Make it Crafty Scribble Circle Chipboard Frame. I wanted silver and gold for the frame to go well with the blue and used my BV20 Copic to colour it - a grey colour with a bit of violet as in the image. I then used Faber Castell Texture pens to colour the golden stars and the pearl circles. I also covered the whole frame in Star Dust Stickles to have a lot of sparkle - sorry, the photo doesn't show well.

I glued the frame to a piece of Bo Bunny DP, put my mermaid on foam squares to sit on the frame, added a Make it Crafty Heart Chipboard coloured in R37 and did a few "pearl" dots with my texture pen. Here is a close up on the image and summary of all the colours used:

Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, R20
Hair: 100, BV04, C7, 9
Fin: BG09, 11, 13, 45, 49, C7, V09, 15, 17
Leaves and star: BG72, 75, 78, C7, Y11, 26

That's all from me today! Thank you very much for your visit, have a fab day! Hugs,
Delphine xx

A Mermaid Hello

Hi everyone!

Today it's my turn to show you a card that I made. This time I choosed to make a little underwater scéne with some mermaids and fishes. I have the Little Mermaids stamp by The Greeting Farm almost 1 year and I finally had some time to play with it!

First I stamped the images with my Memento Desert Sand ink pad on some Neenah cardstock so I can use the no lines technique to colour in. I overdrew the eyes with a black Copic multiliner 0.1 and let it dry for a few minutes.

I started to add a layer on E51 on the bottom of the cardstock to make it like sand.
Then I coloured the rest of the sand a little bit wavy because it's in water with my E55 en E53 markers.

Now the sand needs a bit more texture and I did it with adding some dots of the same colours on top of sand.

Then I coloured the sandcastle and I used E57, E55, E53 and E51 for that. I also darkend the shadow around the castle with my E57 marker to let the castle pop out more.

After that I did the water but I forgot to take pictures in between, so stupid. I decided to have my lightsource at the right upper corner and let it fall down like hairstrokes. You have to do flicky moves.
Here you can see that I coloured a bit over the other images that are still blank, but that isn't a disaster. You won't see that if you colour the rest.

After that I did the skin of both images. I always start with skin right behind I did the background.

Then I coloured the mermaids with some fun colours. I really like it to give them crazy haircolours.

Here's how it looks like when it was done but I added some details on the bubbles with the Copic Opaque White paint. You can see that on the last picture.

And tadaaaa... Here she is, my mermaidcard!

Here are all the colours I've used (there are a lot!!!)
skin: E04, E11, E00, E000
orange: E09, E07, E04, E02, E00
purple: V09, V06, V04, V000
green: G28, YG17, YG13, YG11
pink: RV69, RV19, RV55, RV52
yellow: E37, E35, Y28, YR23, Y17, Y15
blue: B29, B26, B24, B21
sand: E51, E57, E55, E53
water: BG000, BG11, BG72, BG23, BG01

Meribelle the Mermaid

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

So, Christmas is coming and Christmas is coming FAST! When we get to this point in the proceedings, I like to take a break. Ok, so I have a rebellious streak. But, it's nice to step away from the red and green, the cute elves and do something completely different..

This sweet image is called Meribelle Pretty, (from Polkadoodles) the perfect name for her, don't you think?

I coloured the background with Copics. The trick to colouring a large area smoothly is to use the chisel nib and have a lovely juicy marker. It can get messy, so make sure you have something underneath!

Copics Used...
Background; BG10, BG11, BG53
Skin; E000, E00, E21, E70
Hair; N3, N5, N7
Mermaid Tail; BV0000, BV01, BV02, BV13, BG10, BG11, BG53, RV10, RV11
Starfish; Y35, Y38, YR14
Shell; E41, E42, E43

Thanks so much for stopping by... Have a great day.
