Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share a Halloween card! I don't celebrate Halloween but I love making Halloween cards! I went traditional, a little witch in Halloween colours since I like them so much!

This cute little witch is from the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set called My Best Friends Are Witches. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with my Copics starting with the background. Once my image was coloured, I added a bit of Distress Inks around the edges and stamped a sentiment from the CC Designs Spooked Out Set. I then stamped stitches all around my image using a stamp from my stash.

For the wedding couple

Hi Copic friends,
Elizabeth here with today's inspiration!
Summer is wedding season, and I have made quite a few wedding cards the last couple of months.
This is one of them.

I made a book card with the names of the happy couple, and wedding date on the book end.
The papers are from the Pion Design Wedding Collection.

The image is by Mo Manning. I coloured it using the no lines technique. I also embossed the image
using Utee Embossing Powder and distressed it with Distress Ink Walnut Stain,
to make it look old and vintage.

Here's the image before and after embossing it, to show you the original coloring:
Copic colours used:
Skin: E13-11-21-000, R20
Hair: E57-55-53-51, Dress: W7-3-1-00,
Suit: W9-7-5-3-1
Red details: R56-29-27-24-22-20
Green: G99-94-46-43-40
Dotted background: C1-3, W1, B60

The inside is decorated like this.

Hope you like it. Thankfully, the wedding couple did!

Wishing you a colourful day!

Crafty hugs,
Elizabeth

Let's hear it for the girls!

Wow, it seems like ages since I last sat here in my studio to blog......
.......not surprising really as it's harvest time here in the UK, I'm married to a farmer and normal life gets put on hold at this time of year!

So it feels quite an achievement to be able to say here is my latest post for Copic Europe -
I hope you like it!

As is my preference of late I have opted for the no lines technique i.e. printing the image at reduced opacity if using digital images or pale ink when using a stamp.

Curly Haired Superhero

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today, and I thought I'd talk to you about Curly Hair :)

I love colouring Curly Hair, it's a chance to be really messy and random with my Markers. I've used an image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps called Toby, he's such a cutie and perfect for some lovely curls...

Starting with my lightest colour, in this case, E31, I roughly draw lots of little 'c' shapes over the hair area, turning the paper around, so that the little 'c's all point in different directions.

I do the same thing with each of my Markers, getting darker as I go along, (E34, E99, E37 and finally E59.) and use less of each colour as it I build the layers of curls.

This is a great technique for being messy with your Copics. In fact, one of mine dripped a glob of ink on the hair just as I finished and I was able to correct the accident. You'd never know... I think I would have cried if it had been straight hair!

Here he is in full Superhero Glory...

And busting through the card he is going to live on...

Copics Used...
Skin; E50, E51, E21, E11, E04
Hair; E31, E34, E99, E37, E59
White, C0, C1, C3
Yellow; Y23, Y26, E33
Turquoise; BG11, BG13, BG18
Blue; B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
Red; R32, R35, R37, R39

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you have any questions about this project, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Have a great day.

tutorial with Copic Opaque White

Today I'm going to tell you something about the Copic Opaque White.
Copic Opaque White is a waterbased paint that you can use in your copic creations.
You can apply the paint with a brush and  if you want to use it with a dip-pen you need to dilute the paint, but it will be less opaque then. You can use the paint on all kind of materials like your Copics, acrylic paints, pencils , but please do not use your Copic Markers on the Opaque White, it will ruin the tip of your markers.
I have been using the Copic Opaque White for writing my quote.
I wrote down the lines and letters first, I used a mechanical pencil for this so I can remove the lines after I finished writing the quote.

In the first layer I simply trace the pencil lines with a tiny detail -brush and the Copic Opaque White.

Just trace the pencil lines.

After I traced the letters I added some extra lines to make the letters stand out a little more. I filled in the spaces between the lines with the Copic Opaque White.

I wrote down the whole quote this way. After you are satisfied clean your brush thoroughly and let the paint dry. Sometimes you need a second layer of paint (this depends on the media you are writing on, if you used inks they might bleed through, but with Copic Markers of acrylic paints, you will be ok and just 1 layer will be enough).

And this is the finished page in my art journal. I used the Copic Opaque White for adding some little bubbles in the background and for the highlights in the ladybug's eyes too.
this cute ladybug is by Aurora Wings and off course coloured with Copic Markers. I used :
E00,01,02,11,21
BV01
100 (BLACK)
C01,03,05,06,07, 09
R20,24,27,29,89
YG05,17,67

And this is a little example of some doodling with the Copic Opaque White.

have a fun and creative day and see you next month

hugs

An Album For a 9-year-old Birthday Girl

Hello everyone!
It's Vili here today, sharing a new album for one cute 9-year-old birthday girl:

This time I used a rubber stamp just because there is no digital one.
Usually, I prefer digital stamps because there are more opportunities for changing the size, rotating the image and so on.
The party's theme was 'Gojuss's girls', who the little birthday girl is in love with, so the choice was completely logical:

If you're asking yourselves what is this keyring, I tell you right away - this is the invitation for the party, which I made from playing cards, topers and other embellishments:

Copics used:
Skin: E50, E51, Е53, Е93
Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, E79
Clothes: RV63, RV66, RV99, W0, W3, W5

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!

passing to eternity

When I saw this fabulous image by Concetta Kilmer for Sweet Pea, I had to buy to it.
I love sugarskulls. Sugar skulls have lot of meaning in Mexican culture and they are the main symbol representing Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. Ancestors who have passed away are represented by clay molded sugar skulls which are painted and decorated, the names of the departed are added to the forehead of the skull and then the skull is placed on the grave stone to encourage the departed loved one to appear on the Day of the Dead. The skulls are not frightening or morbid, and they generally contain a lot of colours. The tradition of sugar skulls helps to let the living know that their loved ones have found peace. The souls of the departed have moved on to a higher existence free from any pain, suffering or anxiety that they had to deal with in the mortal world. The skulls are designed to be bright and cheerful, being a celebration of the life that once was.

Off course I coloured this wonderful image with my Copic Markers.
The quote is by Shakespeare.

The background is made with Dylusions inks and paints and Dylusions stencils. I left the face white, because people that dress up for the day of the dead, wear a sugar skull make up too. I just added a few shades with BV0000 and 01.

The eyes are coloured with YG05,17,67 and 100 (black). The white in her eyes is done with some Copic Opaque white. The fleshtones in her eyes are coloured with RV 11 and 13 the shades with BV0000 and 01.

The lips and flower are coloured with RV04,06 and 09.

Her hair is coloured with a whole variety of black and grey colours. I used 100 (black) and C00,3,5,6,7 and 9.

Her bow is coloured with YR07, 15 and 16 and the dots with RV06 and 09.

The Skulls are coloured with black and grey colours, 100 (black) and C00,3,5,6,7 and 9.
The leaves are coloured with the same colours as her eyes, YG05,17 and 67. For the flowers I used RV04,06 and 09 and for the small ones Y13,15 and 17. The tiny raindrops at the end of the swirls are done with YR7 and 16.
The cute little hearts are coloured with R35 and 39.
For shading the skull I used the BV0000 and 01.

A close up of the eye.

A close up of the hair.

See you later this month with a tutorial about the use of the Copic Opaque White

have a colourfull day
