Earth Colours

Hello there!

Here is Vili from Bulgaria.

Today I'm gonna show you my first card for Copic Marker Europe. I wanted it to be something really special. I love stamps with clothes with many folds so I chose Mo's Digital Pencil "Wiz". I adore all the earth colours and that's why I coloured the image mostly with "E-colours".

Here's a closer look:

The beard of the wizard looks grey but it is in sand tones.

No matter which colour I paint with I always use W7 or W9 in order to strengthen the folds:

Copic Markers used:
Skin: E11, E50, E51, E93
Beard: E40, E41, E42, E43, W3
Robe: E81, E84, E87, E89, W7
Hat: E70, E71, E74, E77, E79
Crystal Ball: B60, B63, W3
Background: E50, E51, E53, E55, W3, W5, Colourless blender

World of colors from Daria Myagkikh

Hello everybody,

My name is Daria Myagkikh and I was so lucky to be invited to join this fabulous design team.
This is my first entry for our blog and I decided to dedicate it to my absolute passion - coloring. :)

I created a background with the watercolors (just had fun splashing around).
Than it was time for my adored Copic Markers! The digi stamp "Jo painting" by Mo Maning was one of the best images to implement my idea - simple card with the self-portrait. :)

The key numbers for image are:

            Skin  - E000, E01, E11, E50, R11 (for cheeks)
           Hair  - E53, E44, E47, E49, E79
           Jeans - B91, B93, B95, B99
           T-short - R32, R35, R46
          Shoes and brushes - E53, E44, E47, E49, E39
           Sketchbook - E53, E34, E37
           Glass and bracelets - Y00, Y21, Y35
            Water - B0000, B000, C0
           Walls and Floor - C0, C3, C5, C8

I cut all details out, add some ranger stickles on T-short + bracelets and glossy accents on glass with water and mason jar.

To change the color of the sentiment I also used copic marker.
The alphabet itself was beige so I colored it with E99 for more brownish effect.

So all details were prepared - the only thing that was left is to gather it all together in one card. :)
Hope you will find it inspiring and we will see your projects soon... for example in our current challenge over here

Wishing you a great day and very creative mood!
( this post is posted today by mistake, should be here on Saturday 28 June)

airbrushed canvas

Hi Miranda again.
Today I have a canvas to share.

First I coloured this fabulous image by Aurora Wings.
Copics I used are:
BV00,17, 25, 29
V17, 15, 05, 09
RV0000, 63,17, 19, 32
B02, 99,95, 93,79
YG03, 17
E000, 01,02,13,17

Then I glued the images on my canvas and started adding a lot of embellies, flowers, leaves , metal items, wooden items  and rhinestones. I also used some stencils with modling paste in the background (e.g. Bubbles by Dutch Doobadoo). I glued everyting down with gel medium and after it dried it I coloured it white with gesso. Had to add two layers to cover alle the colours underneath. So don't worry about matching the colours for your embellies...you are going to paint them white anyway, so a good chance to use all the ones you still have lying around in the wrong colours, isn't it.
When dried I coloured the flowers and other embellies with the airbrush and my copics. Using a few of  colours as I used  for the image.
For the finishing touch I brushed some inka gold (purple and golden) over de embellies to give them a extra shine.

have a fabulous day
and if you have any questions about this technique, just pop me an email or leave me a comment

Coloring Curls- Tutorial

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. So happy to be here at CME! I want to show you a way to color frizzy curly hair with Copic Markers. I love curly hair, but it can be hard sometimes. I found this is a way to do it. The trick is to use very light moves with the tip of your marker.

I chose this beautiful image, Mothersday- daughter by Saturated Canary. I colored the skin first to make sure the chosen hair colors matched.
Copic Markers I will use for the hair is: E49-59-39-35-33

Start with your darkest marker E49. Use the tip of your maker to make the curls. You can practice on a scrap piece of paper to get the movements right. Make very light swirls, barely touching the paper. I'm careful to follow the artists drawings when coloring, starting near her face and coloring towards the tip of the hair. On the right picture you can se the strokes I made.

Next, repeat the movements using your second darkest marker E59. As you can see I leave some white space between the strokes, filling it marker by marker, so the strokes have to be very thin.
I repeat the swirling moments over her whole hair.

Then I go over again with E39. Filling the white spaces, but make sure you don't cover it all.

Go over again using E35 and E33. Be sure to leave some white space here and there.

Finally I go over one last time with the darkest marker, E49 to make shadows under her cheeks to make the curls pop. And finally the lightest marker, E33, to fill inn just a little more of the white spaces. Keep using the swirl movements.

Time to finish up the rest of the image and make a card.

Copic Markers used:
Skin: E13-15- 21-53-50, R20, Eyes: B97-93-91
Daughers hair: E49-59-39-35-33
Mothers hair: Y21-26, YR24, E 23-25-29
Dress: B97-95-93-91
Mothers clothes: W7-3-1-00, V99-95-93-91
Flowers: G82-94, V99-95-91, V06, W7-3-01-00, Y38
Paper: B91-B60, W3
I used Copic Opaque White to make the dots on her skirt.

Here' s the finished card. The beautiful papers are by Maja Design, I used a Spellbinder floral oval, swirl by Memorybox and a Martha stewart punch for the butterfly edges. Flowers are WOC, Sentiment by Norsk Stempelblad and postmark stamp is Kort og Godt.

Hope you like my tutorial. Good luck coloring curls!
Crafty hugs,

Hearts, Tulips and Airbrush!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here with some Copic inspiration and a simple airbrushed background. One of the reasons I LOVE my airbrush is, if you are like me and colour images first, it is perfect to make your own papers and have an exact colour match with your image. Here is my card...

I used the cute Ualani by Little Miss Muffet Stamps and coloured her with my Copics. I die cut her with an ovel die by My Favorite Things, then used my airbrush to add a bit of colour around my image. If you are careful, there is no need to mask your image to do so. For the background, I used a heart stencil by Kesi' Art and picked 4 Copic markers I used to colour my image. I then added a little wooden heart coloured with a red Copic.

Skin: E0000, 000, 00, 02, 11, 23, R20
Hair: E49, 53, 55, 59
Outfit: R81, 83, 85, V09, 12, 15, 17
Glasses: V09, 17, 15, Y26
Tulips: YG01, 03, 17, R32, 35, 37, 39, 89
Heart background: R35, 83, V15, 17
Image border: V01

That's all from me today! Have a lovely day! Hugs,
Delphine xx

Wonderful summer...

Hi there everyone, Åsa here today with some copic love.

The last week has been filled with exams, students, graduation and the summer holiday´s start here in Sweden. And this week we celibrate a holiday thats called Midsummer, so because of that Im being inspired to make a summer card.

I have used wonderful papers from Melissa Frances, and this time I picked the papers before I started to colour the image. Its much easier to get the image to match with the papers when you do it in that order. BUT I usually don´t do that, and that almost always ends with sighs and draging my hair...he he...

I have used the following colours:
Skin: E11-21-00-000-R20-11
Hair: E49-44-43-42
Sweater: BV25-20 / N4-1-0
Dress/Shoes: V95-93-91
Flowers: BV25-20
Green: G28-YG61-BG93-YG03
Tree: E44-43-42
Sky: B000-B0000-BG0000

The little white dots on the image is made with the little Opaq white bottle, with the built in fine brush. Love it!! It gives dimension and contrast to the image.

Have a wonderful week!

Welcome Noemi!

Hello dear Copic fans.
I'm Sandra and today I want to propose a particular project.
Instead of the usual card , for my new project I created a photo frame to give a wish to my colleague who has had a baby.
First of all, I colored with Copics two images of Wee stamps that are called Flower Fairies.
These digi stamps are really sweet and they fit perfectly  to the project I had in mind  .
I used the palette of vintage colors that I love sooooo much : is the color of the RV and W family.
I alternated the two stamps in color so that the two fairies are similar and well balanced, but not equal !
Once I have finished coloring, I took the "Art Triptec " from  Dutch Doobadoo. A MDF tri-base frame.
I colored it with an acrylic paint "taupe color" that  fit very well with Copic W that I have used in the coloring.
Using the Versamark ink I stamped directly on the frame some  Inkadinkado flower stamps and I embossed with a sparkling embossing powder antique rose.
I chose a Bazzil , Maja Desing paper and I completed the project creating  the embellishments using a lot of dies : from   Go Kreate , La La Land Crafts, Magnolia, MFT, Marianne Design, and for the name "Noemi" I use an alphabet from  Tim Holtz ,
I assembled the three parts of the frame using a satin ribbon with the words "it's a girl."
All over my roses I applied Distress Rock Candy always from Tim Holtz for a sparkling effect.
I hope you appreciate my project, see you soon!
Hugs
Sandra
